Dr. Abubacarr Jagne
Dr. Jagne is a physically challenged trained medical doctor who defied many odds to establish himself as a distinguished professional in the challenging field of medicine. Despite his physical nature, Dr. Jagne is one of the most notable faces at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital. He is usually seen riding his wheelchair across the corridors of this health facility trying to meet the everyday demands of his patient. This 40-year-old physician specialist and ISN Fellow of Nephrology is the Deputy Head of Department of Internal Medicine and Physician-in-Charge of Accident and Emergency at the EFSTH. Jagne was among the first batch of Gambian trained medical doctors of the University of The Gambia Medical School. Following his physician specialist training, he was appointed as adjunct lecturer at the Medical School. As a member of ISN Board for Africa, he has plans to improving kidney care and making the services available to all Gambians. Jagne wants to join efforts in establishing the long awaited postgraduate medical training program in The Gambia.
